About Traveling from Pittsburgh to other cities on the east coast or midwest

Traveling from Pittsburgh to other cities on the east coast or midwest?
My dad is visiting me for a few weeks from abroad and I am looking for things for him to do while he is here. I was hoping to have him travel by himself to one or more of Boston, Chicago and D.C. with day tours in the respective cities, accomodation and vegetarian food included. In other words, I am looking for some sort of package tour via bus, train or flights. Does anyone have ideas? Note that my dad doesn't speak very good English, so tours that are foreigner-friendly are preferable.

Yosoyamar this is a good question, but it's unlikely you will strike someone with knowledge of available package tours already. My only suggestion would be to research your local bus-tour companies. I think a bus tour would be more manageable for someone with limited English. And may I suggest Boston and DC as the two cities most likely to be of interest. Just one phone call to any busline should put you on the right track.

About Cheap travel Allentown/Bethlehem to Pittsburgh

Cheap travel Allentown/Bethlehem to Pittsburgh?
I am currently going to school in Pittsburgh and my boyfriend is going to school in Bethlehem, and we're looking for a fairly inexpensive way to get from Allentown or Bethlehem, PA to Pittsburgh. Greyhound looks to be the best so far (about $100 for the round trip), but we're trying to find other ways as well. Keeping in mind that we're college students of limited means, does anyone have any suggestions?

Either Greyhound or you drive your own car. I think it will be hard to find cheap airline tickets.

For cheaper flights, troll priceline, hotwire, travelocity, and even the airlines own web sites (sometimes they have good deals). If you don't mind spending a bit more, a travel agent can take care of all the details for you. You will be asked your departure airport and your destination airport. Chances are, you will be flying into either LAX (Los Angeles) or Minneapolis and then transferring to another flight for Pittsburgh. Good luck in your search!

none,, to travel "in" a state you must be on the ground!
2 :
You would travel in Pennsylvania and Texas, flying over a states does not really count as traveling in them.
3 :
Travelling in a plane in a straight line from Pittsburgh to Dallas you travel in the following states>>> Pennsylvania West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas Google Earth I include all of these states because although not on the ground you would still be travelling through each states air space which counts as being in each state.

PA rocks cuz i live there

Downtown. Strip District. Kennywood Park. Mt. Washington Incline. Go to top of PPL Buildoling and look-out at whole city. Penguins game.
3 :
Pittsburgh may well be chilly in March. Take a long a warm coat and plenty of sweaters. There is a lot of theatre in Pittsburgh, and sports are always popular. The scenery around the 'burgh is very attractive and drives in the car will reward you with lots of photo opporunities. By all means, go to Primanti Brothers and try one of their famous sandwiches! Have fun!

There is nothing to do in Pittsburgh besides get rained on, and when I say rained on, it's because everyone there spits when the talk. The bars there are full of fatties. If you can get out of it, you should.

It may be chilly there in March, but with the weather the northeast has been having, it may well be mild. Pittsburgh is not a bad town for its size. Lot's of culture, but if you want to do the tourist thing, try the inclines to Mt. Washington for a great view of the city, go to a Pens game, Carnegie Museum (Submarine tour is unique), Falling Water (Frank Lloyd Wright house) about 2 hrs east of the city, national aviary, aquarium, zoo. Try going to an ethnic neighborhood for a local restaurant featuring Russian food (there is a good one on Carson St. on the southside). Just some ideas.

Hopefully it won't be freezing. (although we are having a mild winter so far). There is a bazillion things to see and do! Carnegie Museum Andy Warhol Museum The Strip District - all sorts of Restaurants and Night Life. Dave and Buster's - Adult version of Chucky Cheese and way better Find a Barnes and Noble Book store and look inside any of the books on Pittsburgh in the travel section for a full scope of this area. Your guaranteed to simply go WOW! There are too many things to list.

Chilly maybe but I hope it's not freezing I recommend Dave & Busters also, it's a great place the South Side(Carson Street) is a great place if you like to drink and party so is the Strip District and Station Square where Hooters and the Hard Rock Cafe is. There are plenty of museums around the city. There's plenty to do here really.
