Is it possible to travel from Boston, MA to Pittsburgh, PA in one day?
More specifically, from Boston University to Carnegie Mellon University. I am planning a trip and I have one full day, 4/19 (Tuesday), to make it from Boston to Pittsburgh, counting in stops for food. I don't mind leaving really early and arriving really late. Also, how much time should I allow to make the trip. Please don't give use mapquest to give me the answer.

Fun travel destinations/activities near Pittsburgh for an anniversary?
My girlfriend and I have been together for 4 years this coming late September. We have never done anything that exciting because we've been poor and in college. I want to do something fun this year. Our anniversary is late September and we have a ritual of going to every Pittsburgh Penguin home opening game, which is October 2 this year. Therefore, we can go to that game and make a weekend of it. I want to go somewhere fun and romantic near Pittsburgh. Maybe 1 or 2 hours in any direction. Any suggestions?

Wow!!! giving that you are including areas two hours away gives you lots of things to do. If you like amusement parks you could go to Kennywood, or run out to Altoona, there is a place out there that is an amusement park out there that is really inexpensive. I think its called Lakeside or Lakewood. You could try going down to Maryland. Its actually about 2 and a half hours down to Deep Creek Lake, But this time of year would be nice scenery up there and plenty of things to do. Great horse back riding, several places there to rent horses. Fishing, boating, jet skiing, a couple of places to rent boats and jet skis right on the lake. It is kind of a hidden treasure. Not much out that way, and it leads down to Oakland, Maryland, the into the smaller towns of West Virginia, so it is not usually crowded at the lake. Hope this helps a little. Have fun

Kennywood is always a good time! You should really check into that, its a blast for anyone. There is so much to do downtown. You can go to the Strip District and do some shopping, you can go kayaking in one of the rivers, or there are boat rides and tours everywhere! Are you serious? It may cost your life. Anyway, you have to deal with a lot of paperwork and documents before you leave for North Korea. There is no US embassy or US consulate in North Korea and the government can not protect you if anything happens. There is no flight to NK, so you have to go to China first and get a flight to that hermit kingdom. Why don't you visit South Korea? It would be much safer and more interesting than North Korea.

My mom won't let me drive, airfare is expensive, Greyhound's schedules aren't that great, and Amtrak doesn't work for me. Is there any other bus company or train company that will get me there?

i used to live in erie. i went to school at UB in buffalo and i've visited pitt a lot. its not a bad drive at all... just over 4 hours from pitt to buffalo. take 79north to erie then head east on 90 to buffalo. incredibly easy and the weather wont be a factor this time of the year. just get the keys from your mom ... the only reason she doesnt want you to drive is because she is afraid something might happen. believe it or not eventually youre going to make road trips and your mom will have to let go. and if it isnt just a typo ... its buffalo NY.

Flying is going to cost about $166 to $238 round trip depending on how flexible you are in your departure time and whether or not you can deal with a changeover or not. You would arrive in about 11/2 hrs. There are a few flights with seats available for your dates. A little more expensive than driving but obviously much quicker than any other mode. How long does it normally take a small package to travel from Hong Kong to Pittsburgh, PA via HKPost & USPS?
I ordered a package from Deal Extreme (an electronics discounter), and it says it left Hong Kong on 9/4/09, but has no details on how long it will take to get to Pittsburgh. It's registered mail that will travel via the USPS when it gets here to the states, apparently.

no way to tell. i ordered a cell phone cover from china and it got to utah in 4 days. i couldn't believe it. but another package took about 3 weeks. i would think that would be more like the norm. it's only been a week, so give another week at least, then maybe email them and ask if they have a tracking number of some kind. just to let them know you haven't forgotten about them. hope you paid with a credit card so maybe you can get your money back if things go wrong. good luck.

transit time isn't the only variable. it will also have to clear customs. if the company has a bad reputation for shipping contraband items, it will sit at customs until physically inspected. i have a customer that orders and pays for next day FedEx. his packages normally takes a week or more to arrive because Australian customs is very big on 100% physical inspection, no matter how backlogged they may get.

I have an Ipod 30g as well and I bought the griffin itrip. I get no static at all, I have radio stations coming from Philly/NYC/Southern Jersey so most FM channels are full, but I still get no static :)
